Yesterday HES enjoyed a pep rally as their positive behavior award for earning 350 hawk blocks as a school!
They enjoyed the HHS Senior football players, the HHS Cheerleaders, the HHS Dance team, the HHS Flag team, and the Marching Red Hawk Band!

Students in Mr. Lillie’s Natural Disasters class constructed model levees to help prevent flooding. We have been studying Hurricane Katrina and the devastating flooding from levee failures. Students had a list of items they could use, designed, constructed and tested their model.

Child Passenger Safety Week is September 17-23. Amberwell Hiawatha staff and Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies were out during morning drop off with a visual aide for the recommended height for kids transitioning from boosters to seat belts. Bookmarks, pencils, and education were handed out to the children.

HMS 8th Grade students in Mr. Hampl's American History and Government class created Poems in Two Voices to compare different perspectives during the colonial time period. Students participated in an interactive gallery walk, and several students chose to recite their poetry!
