Hiawatha High School Schedule change - Monday, October 14th will be an A day.
The HHS environmental studies students have a prediction of the winter ahead. Looking at the inside of a persimmon seed to use as a prediction of winter weather is supposedly accurate 75% pf the time. In the prairie behind the school are several persimmon trees. The students walked down to the prairie area, gathered persimmon fruits, and sliced the seeds open. The large majority of the seeds say we will be having a harsh winter. So, good luck. Stay warm.
Please join us in congratulating our next recipient of our Red Hawk Hero Award at HES! The Red Hawk Hero goes to someone in our building who exemplifies the characteristics of a hero! Nurse Heather Gildersleeve is our recipient! On a daily basis she has to handle so many different issues. And she does so with a caring gentle manner.
