As part of Hiawatha High School's Suicide Awareness Month activities, students participate in the Signs of Suicide program. Here are two resources parents and caregivers can utilize.

The students at Hiawatha Elementary School are excited about our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair! Which will be held Oct. 9th-12th. The Book Fair allows children to choose their own books to read, which unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Scholastic offers a program called All for Books. The primary goal with the All for Books program is to help build reading skills throughout the community, by putting more books into the hands of students and onto the shelves of classroom and home libraries. We are reaching out to local organizations, businesses and individuals to help each of our students have the opportunity to purchase a book from our Book Fair. With your monetary donation we can make sure every student has the opportunity to build their own home library and teachers can purchase books for various needs in the classroom. If you, your business, or organization would be interested in making a monetary donation to All for Books to be used to purchase books at our Scholastic Book Fair, please email me, Nicki Mathewson at nmathewson@usd415.org. All money will need to be collected by Wednesday, Oct. 11th. ** Please note that on top of students getting high interest books that will get them excited about reading, every donation gives scholastic dollars back to the school to use for additional resources! HMS Flight and Space class enjoyed having guests from Ag Partners, digital ag division demonstrate their drones today.
